I was wondering it it were possible to upgrade to 4.0 from 3.2.2 and not the latest 4.3.1. If not, is it possible to update to the latest iOS version that currently has a jailbreak out?
If you have SHSH Blobs save for 4.0 you could update to it, without them saved, then your only choice would be to update to 4.3.1 which as I write this has a tether jailbreak available for it, were you must connect it to a computer and run a program on the computer each and every time you wish/or need to reboot your iPad....
You can save SHSH blobs for it without jail breaking it by running a program call TinyUmbrella, if you Google you can find it, to jailbreak it on a PC run Sn0wBreeze 2.4b1 for 4.3.1.
Hope that helps...

I shot some DV in 1080p and when converting it in iMovie I see this message that prompts me to believe that iMovie thinks that 1080p HD cannot be viewed by the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4. Is this correct?

While watching television, I saw this commercial today.
I controlled myself just enough to not throw the remote through the TV.
TV Ad: United States owes China (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlkLhVo3PbY)
Thoughts?

It's totally ripped off from an Oscar acceptance speech by Sir Laurence Olivier.
It was foot-noted/referenced so not technically ripped off. :) It's a good quote nonetheless.
...The one avatar I spend the least amount of time on, wins... go figure. Also special thanks to Sir Laurence Oliver! ;)
**EDIT**
Oh yeah, it's a damn good avatar. Cheers

I have a question about inserting photos in your posts when using and iPad (pr iPhone for that mater). I just started using the DropBox app to upload photos to and then using a link to the file. But I was curious if I could do this using any of the services from MobileMe, which I'm paying for. There is the Gallery and iDisk available.
The problems I'm having are that the iDisk doesn't seem to let you upload photos to it, but it does create links to the file. And the Gallery let's you upload to it, but the files links it creates are to the phot's album on the MobileMe site, so the photos doesn't appear when I insert it in a post.
Am I missing something, or is Apple's premium service not as useful as I thought?

Our family just started using Skype some time last November, so we are able to talk frequently with our daughter who is Stateside attending a university. Since mid November, I believe Skype has released some 4 updates. The audio is crystal clear on Cable. They're (forces behind it) Open Source type of folk and that's my lingo.

I will consider trading... but I need to see pics/the condition of the iPhone.
Sounds like you need to read the thread again.

The iBook's screen display 1024x768 and is set to be able to mirror it's own display onto another (show exactly the same image as the actual iBooks' display). However, there is a screen spanning hack (http://www.rutemoeller.com/mp/ibook/ibook_e.html) which does three things.
It lets you run an external display at higher resolutions (easily making it up to a 17 inch monitor's 1280x1024 or whatever it is).
It lets you span the display. This means you can have different things on different displays, they're not merely mirrored.
And finally it voids your warrantee.

Ooops, I now see that in your original post, glossed over it when I originally "read" it. You won't have a problem. Sorry!

With Christmas around the corner... i thought I'd open it up to Christmas suggestions.
When submitting a song check off the Christmas song checkbox as appropriate.
I am open to creating a Chanukah theme too if there's interest. I'm not sure how many Chanukah songs there are...

aw, i prefer the chaos of hunting and pecking throughout MR so i can find the rumors that fit my preconcieved notions of reality, or the nonreality of future apple products. the thrill is gone.
a great idea though ...
this is why arn makes the big bucks.

I use Friendly for Facebook, and cannot find a way within that app to upload a video from my iPad2. I tried going to Facebook using Safari, but that won't let me upload either.
I just want to post a video of my daughters' Birthday, for family back home, so I'm pleading for help.
Thanks!
i think you can export videos to Facebook from iMovie.
Though the app costs you a little, it's most definitely worth the price ;)

Such a terrible idea.
The root home folder isn't even in the standard location. Stop what you are doing.
Create an admin account and use it, not root.

What ISO did you shoot this at? With an aperture of 1.4 and the reflected light I think you could've afforded to do ISO400 even, with steady enough hands. Looks like you shot it at 1600+ though.
Are you f ing serious? Trying to tell me what available light was there? This is a bit underexposed and it was shot at 1/80, f/1.4, ISO3200. Come on now. I know my stuff. Don't you think if I could've shot this at 400, I would've?

I'm currently studying Computer science at university and for the most part have completed the majority of my work in osx.
databases, programming etc etc
I'm going to do a placement year in august/september but I'm a bit concerned about looking a bit silly.[/QUOTE]
Starting investing in technical books from O'Reilly Media Technology Books (http://oreilly.com/). As a router guy I find the Cisco IOS in in a Nutshell (http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596008697/) as the best reference book I ever seen. You would probable like the Microsoft Office Books (http://oreilly.com/pub/topic/msp-microsoftoffice) section to take a look.
