I'm more just curious if there has been evidence that the typical response of "we only store them for a few days while we ensure delivery" is not always true. In a lot of crime investigations, it looks like the police look at the text messages stored on the phone itself.

IMHO there is no reason to have a standard account if you will be doing administration of the computer. Standard accounts are good for users that are not to be allowed to install software or make other changes (such as children).
There are reasons to have two accounts, one that you use and another one (with admin privileges) that is kept around for diagnostic and recovery purposes. It can be a life saver if your user account gets hosed and you can't get logged in.

Hello,
I am trying to create a new database with the mysqladmin command in MAMP. Im in the terminal and I have navigated to
/Applications/MAMP/bin/mysql4/bin
and then I hit
sudo ./mysqladmin create databasename
and I get this message
error: 'Access denied for user: 'xxxxxxx@localhost' (Using password: NO)'
Is there something I can do to fix this?

I save a Pages document in Word format and when I open it in Word there are 2 extra pages, the original document has 2 pages full of word lines.
Word is seeing the document with 5 extra lines for each page, therefore the two page document is now 4 pages in Word.
The paper size is the same: letter.
The margins are also the same.
The formatting seems to be the same: font size, paragraphs, bullets and tabs.
The versions I am using are Pages '09 and Word 2011.
My question is if you have any idea on how to make the document the same in Word with only 2 pages.
I need to create this document in Word.

As far as I know Palm is the best way to go for what your describing, plus its the most compatible with OSX. One of the Zire's should suffice. I personally like the Tungsten T5 myself.

I just ordered myself one of OWC's wicked new 6G SSDs, plus an optical drive bay adapter so I can put the stock rotating hard drive in place of the optical drive for extra storage.
I want to have a portable USB optical to take along in the bag when I'm doing repairs, though, and it seems like a waste to buy a brand new one and shelve the pull from my MBP in case of warranty repair. So I wanted to get a USB enclosure for it, preferably bus powered.
You can get one from MaxUpgrades for $25; they sell it as part of a kit with an optical drive bay adapter, but since I got one from OWC I'd just be ordering the drive case:

Ah, sorry it turned out that way. And yeah, that's indicative of hardware sector failures. Good thing is though that the hard drive is one of the cheapest components to replace that goes bad.
Edit: Good for you keeping a Time Machine Backup :)
The funny thing about that is that I just finally got around to buying an external hard drive for Time Machine backups and the drive arrived this past Thursday. If my iMac started melting down on Thursday the 28th instead of Friday the 29th, this could have been a different situation. :)

$40 sounds about right for labor. The little mini can be a pain to work on. Alternatively, you could try replacing it yourself. Chances are, the bluetooth works fine, and is just disconnected.

Put the Windows disk on the ICH (system's SATA ports), as the card cannot dual boot like that in a MP (been tried before and has never worked).
Other than the Windows disk, it will work.
Is this something specifically to do with the Areca 1880 series cards and the Mac Pro 2010 or does this ring true for all other 3rd party RAID controllers?
When you previously said this is because one does not have access to firmware/EFI settings and can't change the boot device I am wondering why this is required, wouldn't there be a loader\boot menu that one can bring up? How would I then select between the primary OSX install on SSD1/Areca and Win 7 on SSD2/ICH if there wasn't a boot menu? congrats for the iBook. Now TenFourFox is intended to be already set to play youtube videos at low resolution and quality, 360p is really choppy on mine, be sure to use flashblock, it will make browsing experience far better, one good thing you can do for videos is to use the method i explained in my other thread by replacing youtube's default player with quicktime, use MacTubes, or download an Firefox extension within TenFourFox named SmartVideo For YouTube 0.8 in which you can set the videos to start buffering as soon as page loads and select small quality display, with that i can watch youtube videos just fine, test all three and see what you like more :)

Just as coloured folders were dropped and re-introduced due to popular demand, I'd find it useful with certain tasks if icons / folders could be graded according to importance just like the star system in itunes, ie, bigger folder more important smaller less etc.
Granted in day to day tasks it may seem overkill, but combine this with colours & use of "spaces" on a cluttered desktop and I for one would use it often.

I'd just order on behalf of your kids through the online education store. If there are any issues then you could be honest and explain your situation.
I know people who have used the edu store and have specified training colleges etc. No questions were even asked.

The standard resolution for DVD is 720 x 576 pixels, so 800x600 should do the trick.
For myself, when I doubt the quality of a movie or whatever I want to play on a TV/DVD set, I burn the files on a DVD-RW first. In most cases the quality is better on TV than it seems on my computerscreen. Sure the fact my monitor has higher resolution than my TV and the distance from what you watch your TV (lots more than from where you look at my monitor) will play a role.
